Due to elders struggling with hearing, mobility, and eyesight, all phones for the elderly are highly simplistic and only do the most basic cell phone tasks - and this prevents users from keeping up with the new technology such as social networking. Therefore, our group tried to meet the demand of elders who wish to keep up with their kids via social network services - in the most simplistic and easily acceptable way. In this group project, I contributed to bring a foundation concept, the fragmented display-keypad, and later established the device’s exterior design. The streamlined form and the color scheme, silver with red, represent a throwback to the design style of the 50’s and the 60’s - which are the age of glory for the elderly people currently.
